Configuration and directories not writable - Joomla! Forum - community, help and support
i've installed joomla 1.0.13 , gone through web installer. had warning configuration.php not writable option upload after installation complete, did. however, after logging admin backend, still says configuration.php not writable, , cannot install components because many other directories not writable.
i tried changing user site root apache.apache , permissions 755 directories , 644 files, , checking server running apache. tried changing permissions configuration.php 777, still says not writable.
anybody had similar problem?

the server using may not allow php application write access. if case, may need set ftp layer on joomla. i've never used 1.0, in later versions, done in global configuration settings.
i suggest making move joomla 2.5. j! 1.0 long out of date, , no longer supported, either joomla updates, or extensions.
