Locked background layer suggestion

i don't know likes opened image locked. , if want need rid of lock. , yes, there work arounds that.  can add preference option turn off backround lock default.

 

rather having add mask, why not have new layer automatically have mask. small step, alot.   layers should have blank masks associated them.

 

streamline out work, please.

i 1 prefers simple, flat photographs open background layer, , find no problem double-click background make layer needed.  support idea of making option open way.  workaround today's photoshop, in absence of such option, you could perhaps have photoshop automatically run script on file-open detect image simple background , convert full layer.  believe that's quite doable, though i'm no scripting expert myself.  know there folks here on scripting forum such thing.

 

your request add layer mask default one, in light of fact there preference tells photoshop want layer mask on new adjustment layer default...

 

 

i ask this:  adobe, if choose implement suggestion, please consider how affects actions operation, , don't make mistake of allowing (newly implemented) current setting adding mask default affect actions programmed.  must work (without adding layer mask).  otherwise, break or @ least slow down many, many existing actions.

 

i mention because adobe has made mistake before.
