Thread: Mysterious Choppy Audio

hey folks,

running maverick (amd64) , of morning, music seems stutter regardless if play rhythmbox or mplayer, , same via pulse or alsa backends. updated packages i've pulled typesetting , firefox.

noticed happening of morning, may have started little earlier without me noticing , assuming because cpu saturated work doing.

two things can try (from: https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php...s_or_crackling)

1. in /etc/pulse/default.pa change:
code:
load-module module-udev-detect
to read:
code:
load-module module-udev-detect tsched=0
then restart pulseaudio
code:
pulseaudio -k
2. in /etc/pulse/daemon.conf change:
code:
; default-sample-rate = 44100
to read:
code:
default-sample-rate = 48000
then restart pulseaudio
code:
pulseaudio -k
