Thread: Not detecting HDD during install

i'm trying install ubuntu usb drive, when screen says "must have 4.6gb of space available, ect, ect" don't have green check mark it. how ubuntu recognize have more 4.6gb of space , allow me install?

next time, use try option, instead of install.

once ubuntu, open terminal , enter "sudo fdisk -lu" (that's lowercase l, not one). list out partitions on drive.

if have 4 primary partitions allocated hard drive, ubuntu won't give option create -- may not see drive.
