2-parter: 1st automatically prompted to upgrade to v11.3.300.271 (which I already had); 2nd: re:11.4
hello,
i have windows vista home premium, 32 bit.
two-parter question:
part 1:
two hours ago, when booted computer, got automatically prompted update flash player v. 11.3.300.271 (this grey update box; came without me opening browser or other program). ie opened (i have ie9). followed steps illustrated screencapped boxes in ie instructions page... , nothing happened.
i checked task manager , saw adobe installer working, after while of not doing anything, shut computer down.
when booted up, checked flash player version and, yes, it's still 11.3.300.271.
i did searches on google , found out 11.4 newest version ...
so first question is: why did ask me update v 11.3.300.271, since had version?
part 2:
since, googling mentioned above, found out 11.3.300.271 has major security flaws , users urged update v.11.4.402.265, used firefox14 (because that's prefered browser) , went get.adobe.com/flashplayer. followed steps illustrated screencaps again (i noticed different time, because different browser).
when double-clicked on file image in downloads window, took me folder i'd saved it. right-clicked (windows explorer tend stuck there, waited), clicked on run admin (because i'm on vista). clicked run when asked me if wanted run file. clicked yes allow make changes ... and .exe file disappeared folder , absolutely nothing happened.
i checked flash player version again, , still 11.3.300.271.
what's going on?
i'd appreciate help.
thanks in advance!
part 1: have no idea; adobe flash player team can comment on that.
