CS3 Can't activate Recorder - additional solution

hi all,

 

i having standard windows 7 64bit firewire capture problem outlined here: http://forums.adobe.com/thread/869277. however, having followed steps, still getting "can't activate recorder. try resetting camera." error when trying capture dv footage (dvcam happens). can capture hdv fine - , yes, i'm changing on capture settings , playback setting on camera.

 

i had got point of being able control camera buttons @ bottom of capture window, had no display, , still had error.

 

happily, have discovered additional step enables me capture dv. need click edit button under capture settings (on settings tab), , in window pops up, click settings again. untick boxes (preview video on desktop, preview audio on desktop) both during preview , during capture.

 

this should leave black screen, premiere happily capture clips properly. you'll need log clips blind (without display on monitor), or capture whole tapes @ time, it's still valuable workaround.

 

so thought i'd post up, seeing i've seen other poor souls on forum travels need solution!

 

my specs: premiere cs3 (3.2.0). windows 7 64bit home premium. amd athlon ii x2 245 2.9ghz. 8gb ram. nvidia gts 450. camera - sony z1e.

After Effect warning: A problem occurred when processing OpenGL commands

i have after effects cs6 in computer cs5.5 installed. 64bit windows 7 ultimate 20gb memory , 2 amd radeon hd 6900 series display adapters drivers updated hour ago (driver date 27.7.2012, version 8.982.0.0).   when trying use after ecffects, error message " after effect warning: problem occurred when processing opengl commands " when clicking composition window.   what done? not much, i'm afraid. need older graphics driver. other disable second card or play configuration. unfortunately not smart person decided cs6 no longer need manual opengl control user, there's no way suppress within program force-revert software-only modes in case of such issues...   mylenium More discussions in After Effects adobe
