Save as jpg for offsite printer
hello,
i have tiff file preparing send offsite printer (bayphoto/nations/whcc).
they request max quality jpg in srgb color space resolution (depending on company) somewhere
between 220 , 300.
my original tiff has resolution of 250.
when 'save web' jpg , check properties of file, shows resolution of 96.
when 'save as' jpg , check properties, resolution 250.
since pixel dimensions same, matter? seems should stick 'save as' ensure proper resolution.
thanks!
will
resolution web irrelevant. pixelsxpixels matters.
resolution irrelevant until name print size.
resolution measured in ppi or pixels per inch. until have inches, don't know pixels per inch is. whcc example requests file 300 ppi. meaning if want make 8x10 need have @ least 2400x3000 pixels. if file smaller in pixel dimensions needs upsampled. if larger, labs take won't preview results of down-sampling.
i have complete set of whcc lr export templates can download free @ site: http://www.rikkflohr.com/fleetingglimpseimages/lightroom/index.htm
using these ensure (provided you've cropped image proper aspect ration) file correct size output @ lab whcc.
check lab find out specific specifications.
