Thread: Software Center not functioning properly & apt-get update not working

hi everyone,

installed 11.04 today , having problems software center. have little bit of experience previous versions of ubuntu, can't seem figure out what's going wrong.

*** problem ***

here problem: working until tried play around wine little. installed , configured wine fine. launched "winetricks" , attempted choose 1 of options come up. more specifically, picked install app. kept asking me disk has setup files until restarted make stop popping up.

after this, ubuntu software center stopped functioning properly. right after rebooting, opens , shows me categories (education, graphics, etc.) when click on 1 or search something, gets stuck on loading screen. lines lines rotate if it's trying nothing happens. if close out of software center , start again, no longer shows me categories.

*** fix attempts far ***

here did try fix it: first, tried sudo apt-get update. gave me error: "malformed line 59 in source list /etc/apt/sources.list (dist parse)
e: list of sources not read."

did sudo apt-get remove software-center
, after reboot, sudo apt-get install software-center

didn't change decided more error above. here sources list:

2nd line bottom line 59. there seems wrong though i'm not sure , how can fixed.

i'd appreciate and/or ideas. want software center working. if prevalent issue associated software center, there alternative it?

in advance time , help. if left out important information, please let me know , i'd more happy post can.

try commenting out last 2 lines - they're not resolving. plus, have natty partner repositories enabled above lines, these ones redundant , not necessary.
