Thread: SSD w/ TRIM but. . . "Limit 8 blocks"?

hello everyone,

upgraded laptop intel 320 series ssd. intel claims supports trim, , indeed when check hdparm -i, see data set management trim supported has star it. however, see there additional note - "limit 8 blocks".

have enabled trim mounting drive "discard" option, , appears working fine. in fact, it's quite lot faster older ssd did *not* support trim. however, "limit 8 blocks" note has been bothering me, , have been having trouble finding information means, or whether cause problems.

know if "limit 8 blocks" cause problems 11.04 linux kernel (2.6.38-8) implementation of trim support? know "limit 8 blocks" means?

thanks!

wayne
