Thread: star5 stability problems on 64-bit

i tried installing kde on new star5 try out netbook interface, gave me bunch of trouble, , gnome giving me problems after switching back. tried reinstalling ubuntu, discovered desktop image of 64-bit natty consistently gives me kernel panic (with big debugging trace spinlocks , such) when trying install.

alternate installation cd works fine , gets system state started in, kernel panic concerns me. discovered 10.04-netbook (which 32-bit) seems have no problems, tried desktop image of 32-bit natty, seems working fine right now. issues won't crop in next few days...

heads-up - i'm not sure 64-bit natty , star5 agreeable right now. i'm not sure if issues after installing kde related or not. (the mouse stop accepting clicks after first, i'm pretty sure kind of software glitch rather hardware.)

system76 devs, try running desktop installer on star5 see if have same problem?

we don't have star5 in shop right now, believe it's out moment. gets i'll have look.

After Effect warning: A problem occurred when processing OpenGL commands

i have after effects cs6 in computer cs5.5 installed. 64bit windows 7 ultimate 20gb memory , 2 amd radeon hd 6900 series display adapters drivers updated hour ago (driver date 27.7.2012, version 8.982.0.0).   when trying use after ecffects, error message " after effect warning: problem occurred when processing opengl commands " when clicking composition window.   what done? not much, i'm afraid. need older graphics driver. other disable second card or play configuration. unfortunately not smart person decided cs6 no longer need manual opengl control user, there's no way suppress within program force-revert software-only modes in case of such issues...   mylenium More discussions in After Effects adobe
