Thread: variables in .bashrc: how to using dir path

hi,

have hope simple question answer. in ~/.bashrc file can create alias:
code:
alias uchmoddp='chmod -r $1 $2' #specify permissions
and variables work fine. cannot seem love alias:
code:
alias umnt='umount /dev/$1'
i realize problem variable following hot on heels of specific directory, there anyway specify variable in alias this?

reason cannot umount usb pen drives right clicking, , have resort terminal so, me no real biggie, if create alias better no biggie umount using terminal.

actually, inability right click umount usb devices seems thunar issue since run xubuntu. using nautilus able right click , eject/safely remove devices. using thunar however, right click unmount pukes error device must have been mounted on command line or such bs. said no real biggie use terminal, alias nicer.

prefer using thunar , xubu of time b/c laptop quite underpowered.

cheers,
tt
