Newbie Questions

hi all,

i have purchased , installed cp6 on w7 based pc. trying head around captivate, it's harder dreamweaver i've been using 3 years. please forgive me asking lot of different questions on 1 discussion,

 

i'm developer i'm wondering if need install lms such moofle on pc or can install moodle on server , testing online - how develop web sites using dw , works me.

 

see 10 themes, correct or more available somewhere else?

 

when select file>new project>project template there no templates available, supposed create own? what's difference between template , theme? difficult understand when can't see @ least 1 example...sigh.

 

when select play>html5 output in web browser shows correctly goes through each slide in few seconds, couldn't find option "advance on click" presentation or single slide.

 

i added true/false quiz on penultimate slide. when give correct answer , "submit" confirms gave correct answer , gives me option "continue" or "review quiz". when select "continue" nothing though there slide after quiz. digging looks added quiz results page @ end of presentation , skipped slide added after quiz.

 

when deliberately enter incorrect value says "try again", go , give correct answer , "submit" , shows quiz results page "failed", though gave correct answer. again, when select "continue nothing , stays on "quiz results" page, again looks skipped slide followed quiz slide , went straight quiz results slide @ end of presentation.

 

is there book or online tutorial can suggest newbies? when learning dreamweaver found "dreamweaver missing manual" david sawyer mcfarland invaluable, unfortunately hasn't published 1 cp6 or earlier version of cp.

i'll attempt give quick answers:

• install moodle on development pc if may need testing while offline.  after ensuring standard settings work somewhere in project, on test in lms once i've finished each module.  don't need 99% of publishing.
• you correct captivate 6 ships limited number of themes.  more come later people use more.
• you have create own template (save project cptl format) in order have available use starting point spawn new project.
• if want each slide pause , wait click advance, add click box or button each slide , set pause point of object somewhere before end of slide.
• the continue button on quiz results slide whatever have set on success or on fail actions quiz.  if haven't set specific actions, continue mean playhead continue next slide (if there one).  please note quiz results slide must positioned after quiz questions or interactive objects set report quiz.
• if want have multiple attempts @ quiz question, make sure set number of allowed attempts on question itself.  can set number of attempts entire quiz, reattempt entire quiz you'll need set attempts number in quiz settings , select option show retake button.
• damian bruyndonckx has published book on captivate 6.  it's first 1 i've heard of.  http://dbr-training.eu/2012/08/mastering-adobe-captivate-6-by-packt-publishing/  of learned how use app playing it, reading onlinen help, , asking questions on forum.
