Thread: ubuntu 10.04 does not see my cd/dvd drive

g'day folk, have installed ubuntu 10.04.2 sole os on lenovo 3000 n200 laptop. when purchased laptop came vista pre installed....sob..sob..sob!
shortly later (april 2, 2009) formatted hdd , installed win xp sp3 has been working flawlessly have become bored windows decided try ubuntu 10.04 after heap of reading in forums etc. went installation apart 1 major problem (in opinion anyway) laptops inbuilt cd/dvd reader/writer
not show anywhere thought strange had installed ubuntu live dvd. external usb hdds , thumb drives shown immediately!!
can please me problem?

welcome forums. odd problem. cd writer/reader show under computer when place cd in it?

i have after effects cs6 in computer cs5.5 installed. 64bit windows 7 ultimate 20gb memory , 2 amd radeon hd 6900 series display adapters drivers updated hour ago (driver date 27.7.2012, version 8.982.0.0).   when trying use after ecffects, error message " after effect warning: problem occurred when processing opengl commands " when clicking composition window.   what done? not much, i'm afraid. need older graphics driver. other disable second card or play configuration. unfortunately not smart person decided cs6 no longer need manual opengl control user, there's no way suppress within program force-revert software-only modes in case of such issues...   mylenium More discussions in After Effects adobe
