LR4.1 - external editing - metadata not recognised on re-importing

i use 2 external editors in work. nik silverefex pro 2 , portrait professional. se creates tiffs work on, pp creates psd files. can use both plugins fine , export , tweak images. however, problems start on re-import stage.

 

so, i'm working in filtered list of files. filtered couples name (its wedding). see couples wedding. edit files externally , re-import. - here's problem, don't show up. first off thought perhaps metadata not copied over. is. if clear filters, images there in library. have metadata attached correctly , star rating too. but, if use couples name filter again - refuse appear in selected group.

 

solution - quit lr , restart it. appear!

 

bizarre. why? metadata hasn't changed, there. can read correct keywords there assigned images, filter refuses see keywords until program restarted. dip in , out of silverefex many, many times during wedding edit - infuriating least.

 

solution anyone? or suggestion if i'm person suffering problem? haven't tried 4.2 yet, see no mention of problem being solved in release notes.

paul, suggest renaming preference file (do add "old" name") lr closed , restart see if removes problem.

if fails, may want try using smart collection.

 

btw, don't have issue on mac 4.2rc.

After Effect warning: A problem occurred when processing OpenGL commands

i have after effects cs6 in computer cs5.5 installed. 64bit windows 7 ultimate 20gb memory , 2 amd radeon hd 6900 series display adapters drivers updated hour ago (driver date 27.7.2012, version 8.982.0.0).   when trying use after ecffects, error message " after effect warning: problem occurred when processing opengl commands " when clicking composition window.   what done? not much, i'm afraid. need older graphics driver. other disable second card or play configuration. unfortunately not smart person decided cs6 no longer need manual opengl control user, there's no way suppress within program force-revert software-only modes in case of such issues...   mylenium More discussions in After Effects adobe
