Thread: Evolution Mail Won't Send Messages 10.04 LTS

it worked year no problems. suspect recent update changed something.

hotmail mail service. i've read instructions on how set evolution. i've followed them no change in results.

i've tried smtp.live.com:587. set smtp.live.com.

ssl way set i've tried tls too. i've seen both suggested.

authentication set "plain" yet when press send/receive error message says

"error while sending message.

not connect smtp.live.com: input/output error

pop before smtp auth using non-pop source".

i've tried removing , reinstalling it. 1 thing did notice after reinstalling it, last messages had tried send still showing up. operated if hadn't removed @ all. did restart computer between removal , installation.

on evolution mail problem post, user said evolution crappy program , people should switch else. many people think true? thunderbird firefox work better?

i'd rather fix give switching. mail on apple computers because can switch "from" tab , highlight numerous messages @ 1 time move them or delete them. in evolution must delete them 1 @ time.

while searching solutions did notice there many evolution problem threads , frequent. didn't find solution computer in of them.
