Thread: How to install Ubuntu perfectly?
first off, of helping me last thread, apologize rude final response. it's hard not raging mad when follow seemingly straight-forward directions installing ubuntu have destroy windows 7 installation. i'm settled down , have windows 7 reinstalled, want try again going make sure 100% planned out before begin. rather long post if continue reading, thank support.
ultimate goal free myself of windows dual booting windows 7 , ubuntu. way can ween myself off of windows.

keep in mind had windows installation on raid volume. also, installed linux on /dev/sda @ time. when reinstalled windows, installed on /dev/sda, , raid volume contains files previous installation of windows 7. raid volume linux installation now.
can me started on this?
once ubuntu installed, need figure out how dual monitor setup configured. have 24" , 21" monitor. have nvidia card. installed proprietary nvidia drivers in ubuntu, not able set each monitor (i wasn't , don't want use twinview) in such way drag windows between then. when enabled xinerama, ubuntu not boot using unity. after logging in (and having unity selected), wouldn't interface, see background wallpaper.
monitor issues 2nd thing i'll need resolved.

in summary, have 2 500gb drives in fake raid0 , want copy existing data off , on windows c: drive. want install ubuntu raid0. correct?
