Thread: Unity's not there.

just start off- i'm not unity hater, , don't mind progress.

when upgraded 10.10 11.04, came standard error message 'you not have hardware run unity' when logged in 'ubuntu'

obviously, needed add hardware drivers, used 'experimental 3d' 1 rather proprietary nvidia ones, nvidia ones have repeatedly mucked system in various ways on install. anyway, rebooted , logged in 'ubuntu' (not ubuntu classic), find either was, or pretending gnome. (i.e standard applications, places, system along top, no launcher on side.) no error message appeared. ubuntu classic same, although expect be.

computer, far i'm aware, 3d capable, , run unity 2d without fault. i've done wrong, problem release, or (i think likely) 'experimental' driver playing up?

if it's driver have file bug report , 'like or lump it' until nice guys @ canonical/nouveau wherever sort out.

have attached screenshot of 'experimental driver'
attached images attached images

i agree experimental driver not capable of running unity 3d on system . bug report or add existing 1 because developers want feedback driver.
