Thread: Bypass GRUB select menu

hello,

seems simple step can't seem find answer. have wubi installed windows 7 , ubuntu 11.04 installed.

when start-up computer, wubi menu. that's fine. defaults ubuntu.
want bypass following grub menu , have automatically select first item in menu without having hit enter time.

this being fixed next release (11.10) there no (easy) way hide grub menu when grub detects more 1 os on system.

try this - written while ago might need check against current version of grub2.

ps if want ubuntu default might time consider migrating or reinstalling direct partition. wubi great try ubuntu out long term use it's better partition , install direct.
if stick wubi, avoid hard poweroffs (if ubuntu hanging try alt+sysrq r-e-i-s-u-b instead) , consider keeping important data backed off virtual disk.
