Thread: nVidia card, videos lag slightly in ubuntu 11.04

hey everyone,

i'm new linux (ubuntu 11.04), i've got can play dvds reason video seems lag bit more did windows xp. notice when stream online videos hulu or whatever.

installed proprietary nvidia driver suggested ubuntu.
installed of extras: sudo apt-get install ubuntu-restricted-extras
, did encrypted dvds:
wget -c http://packages.medibuntu.org/pool/f...untu4_i386.deb sudo dpkg -i libdvdcss2_1.2.9-2medibuntu4_i386.deb
have old system. dell inspiron 5160 intel pentium 4 cpu 2.8 ghz processor, 512 mb ram (yes know...but still, videos better windows.), 160 gb hdd

problem?

flash runs better in windows.. does.

if use firefox, use plugin called flash-aid. install newest version of flash better video..

if using nvidia card open terminal type command

code:
sudo nvidia-settings
then make sure v-sync turned on. can adjust other setting there if like.

After Effect warning: A problem occurred when processing OpenGL commands

i have after effects cs6 in computer cs5.5 installed. 64bit windows 7 ultimate 20gb memory , 2 amd radeon hd 6900 series display adapters drivers updated hour ago (driver date 27.7.2012, version 8.982.0.0).   when trying use after ecffects, error message " after effect warning: problem occurred when processing opengl commands " when clicking composition window.   what done? not much, i'm afraid. need older graphics driver. other disable second card or play configuration. unfortunately not smart person decided cs6 no longer need manual opengl control user, there's no way suppress within program force-revert software-only modes in case of such issues...   mylenium More discussions in After Effects adobe
