Thread: slow glxgear and render

hello, i've used ubuntu main system few months , i'm finding first big problem.
can use games , see movies without problem, using wine can play wow @ 40+ fps medium/high options.
i've downloaded , instaled ogre , found that, if try render sample model.. slows down. says showing 2kfps, model moves if @ 1 or 2 fps. chance, saw if open wow , render model of ogre, suddendly goes smooth.
trying find problem, went system test option of ubuntu11, when arrieved glxgears test, showed slow performance. tried wow opened and... magic!, runs hell xd.
tried calling glxgears console, says 9k+ fps, again went slow! don't know whats happening.

specs:
intel quad core processor
nvidia 8800gtx
4 gb ram

i've installed recommended nvidia drivers. xconf section looks this
section "device"
identifier "device0"
driver "nvidia"
vendorname "nvidia corporation"
endsection

saw that, in "other drivers" application says nvidia driver installed not in use. i've readed arround red known bug doesn't matter. anyway tried remove driver , install int via apt-get, seems if install via apt, system cannot restart, return old driver via ubuntu rescue.

¿any clue of whats happening?

After Effect warning: A problem occurred when processing OpenGL commands

i have after effects cs6 in computer cs5.5 installed. 64bit windows 7 ultimate 20gb memory , 2 amd radeon hd 6900 series display adapters drivers updated hour ago (driver date 27.7.2012, version 8.982.0.0).   when trying use after ecffects, error message " after effect warning: problem occurred when processing opengl commands " when clicking composition window.   what done? not much, i'm afraid. need older graphics driver. other disable second card or play configuration. unfortunately not smart person decided cs6 no longer need manual opengl control user, there's no way suppress within program force-revert software-only modes in case of such issues...   mylenium More discussions in After Effects adobe
