"Save to Adobe PDF" app

just upgraded imac @ work mac os x 10.6 snow leopard.... finally!!!!

but still running cs4 acrobat 9 (v9.5.2)

i edit master files using ms word saved on local server.

i distribute files pdfs saved server.

when updating files under mac os x 10.5 leopard, printing pdf printer driver, had fast simple work flow:

cick print (adobe pdf printer default),

   navigate desired folder,

   click on file replace ,

   click replace.

but under snow leopard, workflow messed up:

   click print

click continue in save adobe pdf popup menu

   navigate desired folder

this mess starts.

if file new, not update, , want save it, "microsoft word - " prepended file name, , there dual extension: ".docx.pdf" **always** have edit it.

if file being saved update, when click on file update, file name no longer has extension, not hidden one, nothing @ all. ok far macs concerned, file still shows pdf file in info. windows pcs (where these files used) no longer have clue file type. **always** have type ".pdf" after file name.

   can click save or replace

and, if reason, click "cancel", save adobe pdf **always** says "an error occurred while saving pdf".

so... in day , age, why isn't smarter???? why app making me work more????

1) there way bypass annoying unwanted pdf settings/pdf creation popup menu don't **always** have click continue??? why isn't there preferences / options menu item can pull when needed???? why interrupt workflow????

2) default file name "microsoft word - "  prepended adobe action or ms word action???? complain this??? possible ms word abberation, test prints in ms excel , mozilla firefox don't show problem.

3) why have keep screwing around extensions???? can't intelligent programming make simple , automatic user??????????????

4) in normal course of pressing offered buttons such cancel, should never see error pop up.

now, when home today, i'm running mac os x 10.7 lion cs5, i'll have see if smarter.
