Is this possible?
i'm working on coupon book , i'd efficiently possible... first xml driven project , i'm quite excited.
so going end being built indesign book considering i'll have ~7 chapters 5-80 coupons in each 3 coupons page. book have index includes each business's name, address, , website. has been done hand in past , sounds awful me.
i've been researching options automation , far table of contents generator feels best can't seem nest business contact information under each first-level heading.
i've tried variety of different settings seems need more rigorous hierarchy toc tool can support.
assuming that option's bust seems utilize fact have of content in deliciously rigid xml document , scripting. unfortunately experience both xml , scripting in indesign relatively slim. aside... here's thought:
i talk database guys , have them include each coupon's uid , in turn include said uid in hidden layer during xml import. once comes time build index merge xml files , sort whole list alphabetically. after importing text seems feasible run kind of script replaces uid in index page number corresponding uid resides upon.
this sounds it's possible haven't plunged scripting quite yet confirm absolute feasibility. figure here might able confirm it's worth time figure out.
i'm grateful input on subject.
thanks!
