Thread: grub error 16 dual boot system

my laptop, has long had dual boot xp/ubuntu installed, gives following error when booting:

grub loading stage 1.5.

grub loading. plesae wait...
error 16

booted hot dvd explore/fix, not sure go here.

sudo fdisk -l yields (manually typed in here, start/end not shown)

device boot id system:
/dev/sda1 * 7 hpfs/ntfs
/dev/sda2 f w95 ext'd (lba)
/dev/sda3 82 linux swap / solaris
/dev sda5 7 hpfs/ntfs

determined /dev/sda1 appears primary windows partition. sda2 won't mount without specifying file type - suspect linux partition. sda5 has 1 entry: system volume information.

i'd preserve windows install - don't have toshiba original install disks (sigh).

click on boot-info-script in signature , follow instructions there post results.txt file here in code tags, # icon in toolbar of reply box.

After Effect warning: A problem occurred when processing OpenGL commands

i have after effects cs6 in computer cs5.5 installed. 64bit windows 7 ultimate 20gb memory , 2 amd radeon hd 6900 series display adapters drivers updated hour ago (driver date 27.7.2012, version 8.982.0.0).   when trying use after ecffects, error message " after effect warning: problem occurred when processing opengl commands " when clicking composition window.   what done? not much, i'm afraid. need older graphics driver. other disable second card or play configuration. unfortunately not smart person decided cs6 no longer need manual opengl control user, there's no way suppress within program force-revert software-only modes in case of such issues...   mylenium More discussions in After Effects adobe
