now know of these questions duh, still want more of confirmation i'm asking if i'm right or addendum what's wrong statements.

1. hardware works better under lmde (specifically don't have patch sound) because kernel isn't modified, it's pretty direct compile kernel.org minor changes work under debian? - feeling i'm wrong in stating.

2. besides having reconfigure virtualbox kernel updates, there other pieces of software can think of i'd have reconfigure kernel updates? know vbox cause of it's dkms builds kernel.

3. why lmde faster? why debian faster ubuntu or linux mint? mean there's nothing missing, @ least i've found, in fact feel have more. software works, great. don't understand if they're pretty same, ones freeze , ones constant update, why 1 faster. think updated 1 more apt slow downs. different?

else running lmde (i've got mine on 60gb partition sharing ubuntu)? if how liking it? best thing i've done try out. tells me constant updates more install new version.

debian patches kernel - configured as possible upstream source.

nvidia drivers , virtualbox have ever used. , occasional newer version of alsa. (i backport myself)

it minor note debian packages configured without hardening small performance benefit. 1-3% on 32-bit , negligible @ on 64-bit. think packages (like midori/mupen64) hardened though. experience "faster" people speak of negligible , not true. tend see mean 'responsive'. perhaps packages , kernel configured more conservatively , less experimentally. note packages in debian unstable have deemed release quality once hit there intended used after enough testing of them done.

no, use standard debian. since share repositories highly doubt there difference. might give lmde try can see why people use instead of debian. (nothing far has convinced me try real). tried 'fully compatible' debian fork called mepis , felt 'just debian'. thing though since not pointlessly change works.

edit: debian based systems fantastic @ doing upgrades (even while working). upgrading debian stable or ubuntu lts every 2-3 years not trouble me much. @ least know same software available whole support life. rolling type software might vanish 1 day.
