Feature request: accented character handling in keyword searches
lightroom handles keywords accents gracelessly.
for example, i'm arts , crafts shooter, have "découpage" keyword. there no single english word concept, we've borrowed french, not long ago it's lost accent.
(even when word may spelled sans accent in english, of still prefer write "café" on "cafe.")
on mac, type on english keyboard, start typing "d, opt-e, e..." it's un-bound accent acute trips lightroom up. lightroom clears suggestion list type it, , doesn't pick thread when type subsequent "e" give combined accented character.
that's real problem because means i'm stuck typing "d" if want suggestions. have on 2000 keywords, list of keywords beginnning "d" long useful.
i've experimented pasting "é" in clipboard after "d," , work. if had keyboard dedicated "é" key, maybe wouldn't problem, don't, is. imagine "solution" makes more sense on windows, keyword shortcuts opt-e don't exist, pasting character map makes more sense.
if add third character, "c", lightroom gets on same page me, , offers "découpage" suggeston. so, don't see why lightroom needs accent offer suggestion.
i propose lightroom let me type word without accent, have completed though did. is, if type "dec" should offer "découpage" suggestion.
this helpful "café" example, because though can type "caf" , pretty sure it's going offer "café" keyword suggestion, muscle memory being is, it's somehow easier type "cafe" "caf". besides, maybe have "cafeteria" keyword, slow me down wait keyword suggestions , check picked right one. typing out whole keyword gives definite match instead of probable one.
