Locating supporting files in Joomla - Joomla! Forum - community, help and support

hi, i'm working out directory structure new joomla site , i've been getting mixed messages forum , elsewhere.

firstly understand research photo gallery extensions, photos etc must[i] live in {joomla-root}/images part of directory tree. (i guess java libraries etc).

i read in forums extensions should live outside [i]web-root directory (which isn't possible on shared server have use).

that's confusion - here's question:
for images, pdfs, etc referenced in joomla articles, matter put them?
    must in {joomla-root}/images structure?
why?
    can in, say, {joomla-root}/images/another-directory?
why?
    can in, say, {web-root}/images/another-directory (outside joomla file structure?
why?

you can put images anywhere in root making directory or putting in existing directory, butu show them in article have select , put picture or file directory...
if want make picture gallery different albums , cannot on shared hosting (due lower space), may try using other websites host pictures... upload there , put code in website's articles...

is wanted ask?

After Effect warning: A problem occurred when processing OpenGL commands

i have after effects cs6 in computer cs5.5 installed. 64bit windows 7 ultimate 20gb memory , 2 amd radeon hd 6900 series display adapters drivers updated hour ago (driver date 27.7.2012, version 8.982.0.0).   when trying use after ecffects, error message " after effect warning: problem occurred when processing opengl commands " when clicking composition window.   what done? not much, i'm afraid. need older graphics driver. other disable second card or play configuration. unfortunately not smart person decided cs6 no longer need manual opengl control user, there's no way suppress within program force-revert software-only modes in case of such issues...   mylenium More discussions in After Effects adobe
