Thread: Attempt to revert to Unity went wrong

so here scoop posting "other os". today tried install gnome3 desktop environment see if it. stupidly disregarded warnings destroy unity desktop (read: disregarded mean did not read). , when rebooted not happy, not because unity missing have been ok that. stop rambling now, rebooted find not not given option choose desktop env. when logged greeted not working theme(ie. missing window buttons basic graphics , like) , cairo/glx dock not functioning correctly. how getting question now. ran command in terminal supposed remove gnome , bring unity.

code:
sudo apt-get remove libgtk-3-common sudo apt-get install ppa-purge sudo ppa-purge ppa:gnome3-team/gnome3 sudo apt-get install gnome-panel
and made worse don't have panel , hotkeys running terminal , launcher prompt nothing. question=what can desktop environment working again? , appreciated. thank in advance time.
