Thread: Erratic desktop behaviour: mouse works, then doesnt, then does

using ubuntu 10.04 lts - lucid lynx , experiencing strange behaviour on desktop. sometimes, no apparent reason, nothing clickable. can move mouse, , can hover on docky nothing clickable. alt+tab doesn't work, can switch between desktops pressing ctrl+alt+left. on other desktop nothing clickable.

have several programs open, such opera, skype, pidgin, thunderbird. after ctrl+q (close) opera, can click again, anaywhere! start opera again, , clicking doesn't work. close again, , try clicking on things, works, once start amarok clicking stops. close it. go skype, scroll , down contact list, clicking doesn't work anymore. close skype, can click again. closed , clicking works. started opera again , clicking doesn't work.

what's going on?

, there other problem mouse. works fine, lags , feels having problems doing it's supposed do. when click, doesn't respond. have click several times work. logitech wireless mx laser. switched logitech lx3 wired mouse. works while, same thing happens. it's not mouse issue software issue.

can tell me how debug mode, see happening? i'm starting annoyed ubuntu, unusable. luckily still have laptop running windows 7.
