Thread: Extended Partition /dev/sda2

i've installed ubuntu 11.04 onto hard drive (with vista) after using wubi installer month or so. gave ubuntu minimally size partition resize later, i'm having troubles doing that.

in gparted. won't let me resize it, assume, because of extended partition /dev/sda2. i've tried in both gparted , easeus (in vista).

there way resize /dev/sda5 partition using unallocated space have?

you can't mounted system.
boot live cd again (i know you've got 1 of ) , open gparted there. way partitions aren't mounted.
right-click on swap partition , select "swapoff", first.
extend extended partition left. click on green tick in toolbar apply change.
resize ubuntu partition left , click on green tick again apply change. moving bootable partition carry small risk , gparted tell that. click ok continue.
step may take couple of hours, beware.
when it's finished reboot , hope it's still ok
has been me, many times.
