Thread: Linking a folder from one partition to a folder in another

hello all,

know title didn't make sense. that's part of problem. can't describe want efficiently enough google come relevant results. here goes:

have pretty big movie collection sits in /home/user/videos. folder being monitored couple of media players moovida , i'm using main source of media mediatomb server access ps3.

of course, didn't assign enough disk space /home folder when did partitions couple of years ago, have 2 (bad) options:

1. resize /home partition , take 100gb or off useless /usr partition.
2. move chunk of collection /usr , add /usr/videos relevant media software.

don't want either of because 1 way time consuming , risky (i cant rely on power remain on 12 hours resize operation undoubtedly take) , option 2 seems messy , dont it.

want move bit of collection /usr/videos , have location mounted (for lack of more appropriate term) onto /home/user/videos directory movies have on /usr/videos appear (to media software) stored on /home/user/videos.

sort of same thing windows 7 libraries added folders seem reside in library. got ideas?

helping,
khodeir
