Thread: Permissions issues chown command?


if have 4 users in pc , want 2 of them have permissions of folder recursively, how command it? (assuming files belong root , only)

have tried:

root@pc:/home# chown user1:user1 user2:user2 -r foldername
but doesn't work
code:
chown: cannot access `user2:user2': no such file or directory

a file or folder can have 1 owner, trying assign two.

can make 1 of users owner , make group contains both users group owner.

can

code:
chmod -r 664 /path/to/folder
