Thread: Ubuntu 11.04 / Windows XP Dual Boot Problem

good evening. seems after loading ubuntu 11.04 along side windows xp (same hard drive) can not windows boot. shows in grub menu when select it, screen goes blank 'dos' prompt sitting there blinking. no windows. can boot ubuntu fine. below grub menu windows. in advance..

im having same problem, im not accustomed ubuntu windows.

first installed copy of xp onto 100 gb hard drive , os downloaded , burnt copy of ubuntu install on 200 gb hard drive. installed no problem , still sustained dual boot menu chose between two. happened.

think either messing around compiz or came installation of nvidia accelerated graphics driver 173. when boot machine, after initial bios boot options, screen goes completly blank awhile , of sudden ubuntu login screen pops , can log in. when log in under regular graphics mode everythings fine have no titlebars on anything(which im sure has compiz)

main concern cant boot windows anymore, selecting winders hard drive boot first hang dos prompt iced00d.
hasn't been real pressing until recently, need use xp software.

thought if changed grub terminal fix it, changed line grub-default=0 xp installation happen 6 alas have no change.

willing help?
