Thread: Update on 10.04 LTS - now nvidia 96 driver is not working anymore

i have older pc in son's game room xubuntu 10.04 lts installed on it. has old geforce2 ti 200 64mb supported nvidia 96 driver. system connected acer h5360 beamer. until performed updates 10.04 on 18 june 2011 (not migrating 10.10 or 11.04) system working fine 1440x900 resolution. error messages @ start up, need boot in safe mode , cannot nvidia96 work anymore.

sudo nvidia-xconfig
doesn't make deal.

lower dead ugly resolutions (1024x768, 800x600 , 640x480) possible. suggestions? not need 3d acceleration have 1440x900 resolution again.

try reconfiguring graphics. @ login screen, press ctrl + alt + f1 , login tty1 using credentials. follow commands below:

sudo mv /etc/x11/xorg.conf /etc/x11/xorg.conf.old sudo dpkg-reconfigure -phigh xserver-xorg sudo reboot now
if doesn't solve problem, might need see outputs of these commands.

lshw -c video dpkg -l | grep nvidia

After Effect warning: A problem occurred when processing OpenGL commands

i have after effects cs6 in computer cs5.5 installed. 64bit windows 7 ultimate 20gb memory , 2 amd radeon hd 6900 series display adapters drivers updated hour ago (driver date 27.7.2012, version 8.982.0.0).   when trying use after ecffects, error message " after effect warning: problem occurred when processing opengl commands " when clicking composition window.   what done? not much, i'm afraid. need older graphics driver. other disable second card or play configuration. unfortunately not smart person decided cs6 no longer need manual opengl control user, there's no way suppress within program force-revert software-only modes in case of such issues...   mylenium More discussions in After Effects adobe
