Thread: What happens after Moore's Law?

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/moore%27s_law

moore's law states number of transistors commonly found in computer hardware doubles every 2 years. according article, last until 2015-2020.

question is, how market change when moore's law comes halt? right now, old hardware priced cheaper newer hardware, when hardware stops getting better, manufacturers make similar hardware? won't mean prices same? additionally, bit cheaper have massive supply of "fast" hardware?

i'm using terminology incorrectly, or missing important factor, i'd know think.

at point in not distant future we'll move away transistors etched in silicon. there's few potentially disruptive technologies on horizon.
