Rendering 1:1 slow in LR 3.6

hello i've upgraded lr 2.7 lr 3.6 in last month or so.

i running windows 7 64bit professional , have photoshop cs4 on machine.

before upgrade rendering 1:1 previews wasn't fast wasn't bad. i've been rendering 1:1 previews 550 images , has taken on 45 minutes so.

that seems "normal" now. lr 3.6 seems slower @ working. (and yet hear lr 4 slower. thankfully not in hurry upgrade that.)

i heard using second screen shift+e or shift+g etc can slow down rendering before render close second view. have not noticed makes difference: rendering still seems take forever.

the machine isn't under-specified. intel core2 duo e83400 @ 3.00ghz, 8gb of memory , disk space aplenty.

any suggestions/ideas?

that's relatively old cpu. , you're around 5 seconds per image, isn't bad. don't how big (in megapixels) images are.

you can start rating , keywording images first 1 available, , @ 5 seconds each, lr stay ahead of , finish before do. 45 minutes shouldn't make real difference you.
