Thread: Asus k52 10.04, volume and screen problem

asus k52f running ubuntu studio 10.04 lts.

bought laptop, i'm loving it. had windows on day, newer versions of windows harder navigate since i've been using linux long. have setup want (which party means microsoft off of hdd). there 2 tiny issues bother me little...

1) when plug in headphones doesn't cut off laptop speakers every other laptop does. plays through both headphones , laptop. way kindof around turn laptop volume down way , run through separate set of speakers headphones plugged it. crank volume way , volume on laptop barely enough hear. doesn't make portable though.

2) whenever close laptop lid, , open (even if it's second) screen goes black, backlight still on. it's in powersave mode, , i"ve tried pressing esc, end, space, mouse click, wiggle track pad, touch power button, enter , bunch of other kets , won't come back. have hard reboot come every time. think i'll adjust power save nothing happens when close lid, still need fixed.

After Effect warning: A problem occurred when processing OpenGL commands

i have after effects cs6 in computer cs5.5 installed. 64bit windows 7 ultimate 20gb memory , 2 amd radeon hd 6900 series display adapters drivers updated hour ago (driver date 27.7.2012, version 8.982.0.0).   when trying use after ecffects, error message " after effect warning: problem occurred when processing opengl commands " when clicking composition window.   what done? not much, i'm afraid. need older graphics driver. other disable second card or play configuration. unfortunately not smart person decided cs6 no longer need manual opengl control user, there's no way suppress within program force-revert software-only modes in case of such issues...   mylenium More discussions in After Effects adobe
