Thread: Dual head without X (Intel 945GM)?

hello,

i'm running ubuntu 11.04 on laptop external monitor. 2 displays work great in x, i've been trying figure out whether there's way multiple screens work in console. (as opposed both displaying same thing, they've done outside of x.)

understanding way achieve want 2 framebuffers. right now, i've got 1 (/dev/fb0), , it's working -- can set resolution "video=" boot parameter or fbset, , programs use framebuffer run fine. haven't figured out how end 2 framebuffers, each associated own display.

i'm not entirely sure i'm on right track, since lot of these things seem have changed in last few years , of (limited) info on web outdated.

i'd appreciate info on whether possible hardware or suggestions on how go it.
