Thread: How to delete Simple Backup Suite back up files from hdd?
hiya folks,
hours googling , searching forums not proving productive finding info need resolving problem having ubuntu 11.04; try posting here.
new ubuntu user enjoying learning more how pc works. have upgraded 11.04, hard drive in system 120gb , simple suite has filled hard drive corrupt files aswell warning window when suite tries run , hard drive low space warning window.
when try delete files there file permissions window telling me don't have permission.
have tried reconfigure sbackup , schedule tab greyed out , unavailable trying find way deactivate sbackup , remove files on hdd.
how deactivate/uninstall sbackup.?
how delete saved files.?
in advance.
i have no experience of sbackup/simplebackup, have read reports of doing odd things. answer first question, have sbackup or simplebackup? both listed in synaptic different apps. whichever, open synaptic (in natty press windows/super key , type "syn" , synaptic appear in list of possible apps in dash). search sbackup (plus sbackup-gtk) or simplebackup, whichever have, , mark them (right-click) complete removal. click on apply.
far second question concerned, sounds though sbackup has saved backup files restrictive permissions and/or ownership. files stored? open terminal , cd relevant directory , post output of command:
if need cd-ing bit, post details of files are. output tell permissions on files , them.code:ls -la
