Thread: MySQL hangs if remote

i'm having issue where, when try enable remote access mysql setting bind address external ip , ensuring skip-networking not present, on trying start service, console hangs on empty line. far know, service never started.

can disable remote access , reboot box, need remote access.

i'm not experienced linux, service works fine when bind address 127.0.0.1. server serving http, it's not networking issue. , port forwarded properly.

using:
ubuntu server 11.04
mysql server 5.1

okay, if let box restart or try start service in 2 ttys @ same time, starts. can't connect anywhere, localhost, because says:
error 2002 (hy000): can't connect local mysql server through socket '/var/run/mysqld/mysqld.sock'
makes sense because file doesn't exist. seems created mysql on startup. touching create file (and opening permissions/fixing owners, etc) doesn't work.

i've got resolved , banging head on wall because can't find resources on web , can't think of way fix it.... help!

After Effect warning: A problem occurred when processing OpenGL commands

i have after effects cs6 in computer cs5.5 installed. 64bit windows 7 ultimate 20gb memory , 2 amd radeon hd 6900 series display adapters drivers updated hour ago (driver date 27.7.2012, version 8.982.0.0).   when trying use after ecffects, error message " after effect warning: problem occurred when processing opengl commands " when clicking composition window.   what done? not much, i'm afraid. need older graphics driver. other disable second card or play configuration. unfortunately not smart person decided cs6 no longer need manual opengl control user, there's no way suppress within program force-revert software-only modes in case of such issues...   mylenium More discussions in After Effects adobe
