When PE9 imports AVI's it "conforms" them

unfortunately quite hangs @ point in process. 7% or file 25% etc. there virtually no cpu usage, , physical memory around 50%, not being overworked @ point of lock up. way out of mess 3 finger salute , opt close.

i cannot see consistent reason why it, media being imported can small eg 125mb , freeze, or 1.5gb , conform no issues.

all files have been created same program audials 1 9 via screen recording, , play equally prior attempting import.

perhaps not connected, pe9 has annoying habit of opening previous information, either photoshop, or previous use in elements, when 1 has selected "new project".

i have q9300duel quad processor, geforce gts450 graphics card, , regrettably 4gb of memory using win7 64 service pack 1.

premiere elements not work video created program unless created specs. sounds though audials program may using codec program can't read.

open 1 of avis in program g-spot or media info , post specs here.

we're interested in frame rate, resolution and, above all, audio , video codecs. if programs come "codec undetermined" it's pretty you're not going able edit video in premiere elements.
