Can you update joomla by ftp? - Joomla! Forum - community, help and support

hey guys,

someone have put malware in joomla installation, page have been closede hosting firm.

i have update latest joomla, cant in admin page.

are anyway can update ftp? cant finde guides :(

just noticed old post. answer may helpful i'll leave it.

i believe versions of joomla have packages upgrade using ftp. i've done in past. update package, unzip locally, , ftp files replacing older ones. first in case. i'm not expert means.

the malware problem i've unfortunately experienced. had go 1 1 through every index.php file , delete evil code. found had go template files find every index.php file. seemed me if missed 1 file, evil code regenerated through website. malware insidious , i've learned monitor persmissions , added joomla component rsfirewall (i think that's name, i'm @ work right now).

i have after effects cs6 in computer cs5.5 installed. 64bit windows 7 ultimate 20gb memory , 2 amd radeon hd 6900 series display adapters drivers updated hour ago (driver date 27.7.2012, version 8.982.0.0).   when trying use after ecffects, error message " after effect warning: problem occurred when processing opengl commands " when clicking composition window.   what done? not much, i'm afraid. need older graphics driver. other disable second card or play configuration. unfortunately not smart person decided cs6 no longer need manual opengl control user, there's no way suppress within program force-revert software-only modes in case of such issues...   mylenium More discussions in After Effects adobe
