Technical document handling

how can equations in technical documents handled?  resulting html code causes kinds of editting problems.  better handled graphic objects

try converting document ocr turned off (disabled 'recognize text').  happens in many cases mathematical equations symbols used don't exist within fonts used on our system.  such, ocr function tries identify symbol might within character set available, resulting in change way equation looks.
