Thread: Adaptec aacraid 6805 6405, v 1.1.7-28000

i'm building new server adaptec 6805 controller , ran version problems current drivers on adaptec , current version of ubuntu.

drivers on adaptec website 10.04.01 (kernel 2.6.32-24) ubuntu released 10.04.02 (kernel 2.6.32-28). makes using insmod aacraid.ko fail due version differences.

downloaded linux drivers source , trying figure out how older kernel source. took forever somehow managed work using "dkms" build module older kernel.

worked step 1 of installation ubuntu recognize aacraid driver. (insmod aacraid.ko) worked

step 2 after ubuntu installed copy old initrd 2.6.32-24 again think problem. used mkinitramfs create proper initrd.img-2.6.32-28-server new aacraid.ko driver.

never tried step because have card still waiting hardware continue rest of build unable test this, monitor thread , provide info.

i've attached aacraid.ko able detect on 10.04.02.

if works i'll link better spot in future. should have hardware next week able confirm if needs right away please let me know how worked out.

update (jun 23,11)

http://old-releases.ubuntu.com/releases/ contains ubuntu 10.04.01 can download exact version of ubuntu supported adaptec 6805 / 6405 / etc. here can upgrade 10.04.02 still have compile aacraid driver kernel.

should getting remaining hardware server next week post more info later.

i got around testing these drivers yesterday , work! current 10.04.02 adaptec 6805 / 6405 / etc.

once there can download 1 of latest kernels @ least have base system start , fall if there issues compiling driver kernel afterwards.

i'll have blog server build somewhere funny experience given had occurred. building custom rack server scratch common components works have research each , every component.

PProHeadless.exe has stopped working error when opening projects in Adobe Media Encoder CS6

hi, upgraded adobe cloud cs6 , having problems adobe media encoder cs 6 (version 6.0.1.31 64-bit).   when try add adobe premiere projects in ame, gives me following error:   pproheadless.exe has stopped working   i tried rebooting, , still gives me same error.  project load, won't.   the premiere projects contain h.264 .mov file coming canon t2i.  added overlay logo bottom right of video created in adobe after effects, contains text, no effects, no motion, etc.  have .wav file recorded zoom h4n, not always.  edit in adobe audition remove noise feature.   i running on windows 7 ultimate 64-bit.  i'm using i7 16gb ram , ati 6870 video card.   i have lut buddy plugin installed.   it give me error first time try load project, , connection dynamic link server fail.  afterwards, if try load project again, if restart ame, stays stuck in connecting dynamic link server...   any provide appreciated. what happens when drag , a...
