Thread: Compiz doesn't work...

i've searched around 2 hours, , can't grasp on this.

i'm trying migrate ubuntu exclusively windows 7. support ms desktops day, , grow tired of it. looked @ of programs use every day, , there ubuntu equalivents each one.

have natty installed on amd quad, 2.9 ghz, gt geforce 240 card. 8 gb memory. dual monitors, 1 asus vw264h, , acer al2017. asus @ 1920x1080 , acer 1400x1050.

installed video drivers nvidia's website. didn't default interface, changed classic. i'm trying go back, can't.

in nvidia x-server settings, have twinview enabled. on login, error message on right side of acer screen blows fast can't read it. monitor settings though.

compiz-check reports unable detect maximum texture size, , non power of 2 fails. glxinfo shows error of failed request: badwindow(invalid window parameter).

i've checked xorg.config, shows 1 big screen across 2 monitors.

remind me how post code , can cli , post output.

i've been @ night, want make work. can't set autologin, there no user available select. kind folks give appreciated, , of have found old, old versions of ubuntu.

btw, 64 bit version of ubuntu.

not sure did, got work. have visual effects. still getting error message video blows fast on login.
