Thread: natty netman connect/disconnect wifi every minute
i happily running ubuntu 9 since cannot security updates anymore had upgrade 11. i'm on natty, , "networkmanager" apparently cannot deal latop's wifi card worked fine years under ubuntu 9.
laptop dell latitude d610 , card intel ipw2200 minipci. used run /etc/init.d/network restart after logged in wireless come up, if failed itself, message that's deprecated. nice.
i'm running wpa. if don't create wireless configuration in network manager, wireless never connects. ever. if create configuration, connection comes minute, , drops. , comes up. , drops. , comes up. , drops. it's insane. also, series of "auto <ssid>" entries in nm settings area.
dug around in /var/log, of wpa_supplicant logs of size 0, except gzipped backups, size 20. go gzip. syslog has messages in 4-way handshake failed, , association taking long, since laptop has no network connection don't have easy way post here.
want wireless come up, itself, when turn on laptop used to. don't want have deal retyping (long , complicated) wpa password every time wake machine, nor deal "keychain." how there?
thanks,
quick update: after rebooting "wireless disabled," wifi connection comes right no errors during boot! however, of "smart" apps software center think there no network connection , full of warnings, thought network connection works fine.
networkmanager beyond screwed up...
