Thread: Problems with Wifi and Nvidia Drivers

hi all,

bought lenovo z570 ideapad 2nd gen i5 sandy bridge processor , nvidia 520m optimus graphics card.


installed ubuntu studio 11.04 recently, before using ubuntu 10.04. noticed after installed ubuntu 11.04, wireless has stopped working. showed disabled hardware switch.after googling around, able enable wifi , use has again become disabled. has become cubersome task of running commands again make work..



in model both bluetooth , wifi enabled fn+f5 combination. there hardware slider switch. if able enable wifi unable start bluetooth. since of fn combination keys don't work including brightness switch.


checked out sys.log , found when pressed fn+f5 combination, wireless driver enabled disabled in 1 go, along messages referring key combination not recognised.


read linux not support nvidia optimus technology of now, have check out alternatives debumblebee project. tried running debumblee script cant find nvidia -dkms , nvidia-xconfig packages.


tried out , posting here. although there similar issues reported. in 1 problem info facing in idepad z570.

After Effect warning: A problem occurred when processing OpenGL commands

i have after effects cs6 in computer cs5.5 installed. 64bit windows 7 ultimate 20gb memory , 2 amd radeon hd 6900 series display adapters drivers updated hour ago (driver date 27.7.2012, version 8.982.0.0).   when trying use after ecffects, error message " after effect warning: problem occurred when processing opengl commands " when clicking composition window.   what done? not much, i'm afraid. need older graphics driver. other disable second card or play configuration. unfortunately not smart person decided cs6 no longer need manual opengl control user, there's no way suppress within program force-revert software-only modes in case of such issues...   mylenium More discussions in After Effects adobe
