hi there!
have solved problem?
if not, i've found on redshift's main dev blog.
he suggests removing ubuntu packages redshift & gtk-redshift before using ppa.make sure either install packages official ubuntu or ppa. don't mix well.
hope helps.
(for part, i'm using 1.6 version found in repositories on 11.04, , works charm.)
