Thread: rt73usb Device failed to enter state
i've had problems since upgrading natty standby/resume, did not occur in previous releases.
@ time of resume, screen post error:
code:problem device rt73usb: device failed enter state 1 (-16).
i'm running dual-boot ubuntu 11 x64, windows vista machine.
near can tell, rt73usb driver gemtek wireless networking card. gemtek not appear on list of compatible 802.11 cards, have had no difficulty connecting wireless networks using rt73usb driver. problem has been resuming standby.
problems resuming standby affect other usb devices: example, necessary disconnect , reconnect usb keyboards, webcam, , backup drives after rebooting. (this new since upgrade natty. whatever developers did natty support usb , ntfs drives, has knocked system on butt.)
appears several postings rt73usb may obsolete, , should update rt2xxx driver. point me current how-to?
i've downloaded 2011 ralink rt73 driver linux support page--not sure whether & how compile or install that.
what's best way rid of "device failed enter state" message? , if that, other usb peripherals work better on reboot?
thanks-
open terminal , type
the wireless performance improve , error stop.code:sudo iwconfig wlan0 power off
