Thread: SD Card Adapter

i'm trying use adapter sdmicro normal sd card on laptop. notification tath has been plugged in, doesn't appear recognized. doesn't show in nautilus or gparted. light next sd card reader blinks when card inserted instead of being solid. if left in computer few minutes, light turns off.

tried booting windows on same computer see if recognized it. told me needed format it, when trying said write protected. i'm not sure here, appreciated.

is there on device? if not, easiest solution erase , reformat it.

erase, type in terminal (where /dev/sdx whatever device is: /sda, /sdb, /sdc):

sudo dd if=/dev/zero of=/dev/sdx conv=notrunc

sure know sure 1 before attempting it.

, once erased, use gparted format ntfs, fat32, ext4, or whatever want. if still have issues gotta hardware thing.
